How Writers Get Paid at Sure Media
Sure Media offers equal earning opportunities to all writers, regardless of location, background, or experience.
We run on a performance-based model: no salaries, no limits.
How Earnings Work
If a writer interviews an entrepreneur, public figure, or brand willing to be featured—
and that entrepreneur pays the $100 publication fee—
then the writer gets 50% (=$50) and Sure Media gets 50% (=$50).
Writers keep earning as long as they keep securing high-quality interview-driven content.
Two Types of Writers at Sure Media
1. Business-Oriented Writers (Earners)
These writers:
• Find entrepreneurs or public figures worth profiling
• Conduct original interviews
• Create compelling human-first narratives
• Submit publication-ready articles
• Earn 50% of every paid piece they bring in
2. Portfolio/Contributor Writers (Free-Will Publishers)
These writers:
• Contribute thought pieces and insights for visibility
• Use Sure Media to build their professional brand
• Publish for free (subject to editorial approval)
• Do not earn unless tied to a paid entrepreneur feature
We want quality writers and quality stories, not volume.
Contributor Accounts
Writers must have an active contributor account to publish.
Contributor Account Rates:
• African Writers: KSh 1,000 (one-time)
• Rest of the World: $100 (one-time)
This unlocks:
• Unlimited publishing (subject to editorial approval)
• A personal author page
• Visibility to global readers and industry stakeholders
• Priority consideration for features and collaborative projects
Submission Process
• Submit completed drafts through our editorial portal (provided after you obtain your contributor account).
• All articles undergo editorial review.
• Paid publications (entrepreneur interviews) are edited in-house for quality assurance.
• Articles that fail to meet guidelines are rejected without refund.
