Bombs Instead of Diplomacy: Why Negotiations Are Losing to Missiles

In March 2026, missiles dominate headlines as U.S.-Israel strikes on Iran derail nuclear talks and postpone Ukraine peace efforts, sidelining diplomacy worldwide.

The World Is Watching as Missiles Dominate the Headlines

In March 2026 the whole world is watching as missiles are over the news while diplomatic talks are not happening. The United States and Israel are fighting against Iran. It has been going on for two weeks now. The Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that it will be the intense day of strikes even though there were talks about nuclear issues just a few days before the attacks started on February 28.

Meanwhile Russia is launching missiles at Ukraine every day and the peace talks have been postponed because the United States is busy with the crisis in the Middle East. In Sudan there is a war between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces and it is not ending. The plan that the United States, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Egypt made in September 2025 to bring peace is not working. In Myanmar the government is bombing civilians and opposition areas. They are not listening to calls for talks.

These are not the places where diplomacy is failing. This is a problem all around the world. Countries are using force more and more instead of talking things out. When something bad happens, countries want to get at each other, and this creates a cycle of revenge. The media is also making things worse by talking about how great it’s to take strong action. This makes diplomacy look weak.

The Problem with Using Force

In Ukraine Russia has been attacking for four years. The talks between the United States, Russia and Ukraine are not going anywhere. Russia wants Ukraine to recognize the territories that it has taken and to be neutral. Ukraine says no. Even though Ukraine has made some gains against Russia Moscow is still launching hundreds of missiles every month. The Russian government is downplaying the attacks and saying that they will win in the end. This is putting pressure on Ukraine to give in.

The war in Sudan is also a problem. The plan for peace that the United States, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Egypt made is not working. The leader of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Burhan does not like the plan. Wants the Rapid Support Forces to disarm. The Rapid Support Forces is not willing to do that. Both sides are. Using drones and airstrikes against civilians. This is making it hard for other countries to help.

The attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran are also a problem. Even though there were talks about issues and it seemed like things were going well the attacks started on February 28. This killed the Supreme Leader of Iran and some other important people. Iran responded with missiles. This is causing problems for the whole region.

In Myanmar the government is not listening to calls for talks. Is instead bombing civilians and opposition areas. This is not a way to bring peace.

The Consequences of Using Force

The consequences of using force are very bad. In Ukraine hundreds of thousands of people have. Millions have had to leave their homes. In Sudan the crisis is one of the worst in the world with many people dying from hunger and violence. The conflict in Iran has killed thousands of people. Is affecting the whole region. In Myanmar thousands of people have died from airstrikes and the economy is in shape.

If we keep using force of talking things out it will be very bad for the whole world. It will make it harder to solve problems. Will make the world a more unstable place.

We Need to Go to Diplomacy

We need to go back to diplomacy and talking things out. This means that countries need to negotiate and find solutions that work for everyone. It means that countries need to be accountable for their actions and that the media needs to stop glorifying force. Leaders need to resist the pressure to use force and instead prioritize diplomacy.

In 2026 we have a choice to make. We can keep using force and risking a catastrophe or we can go back to diplomacy and try to find a way to peace. The stakes are very high. We need to make the right choice. We need to choose diplomacy over force and work towards a peaceful world. The United States and Israel and Iran and all the other countries involved in conflicts need to go to the negotiating table and find a way to resolve their differences peacefully. The Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces need to stop fighting and start talking. The government of Myanmar needs to stop bombing civilians and opposition areas and start listening to calls, for talks. We all need to work to create a more peaceful world.
